Amy and Sam’s wedding took place in the heart of Bristol, a sentimental city for this perfect couple. Their autumn day featured florals in mustard tones, champagne nudes, with red and burgundy. Berried foliage and dried elements added texture and brought that autumn feel. Amy’s bouquet was a natural loose style with stems kept short, making it perfect for both holding and for sitting in her lap while using her wheelchair. Floral adornments on the wheels and the back were the perfect finishing touch to her wheelchair, almost an extension of her bouquet. Their day was beautifully captured by Xanthe Rowland Photography

“Thank you for our wedding flowers. I absolutely loved them and everyone commented how beautiful they were and noticed the little personal touches you had included. It was like you had taken an image of my perfect bouquet out of my head and produced it in real life! I am particularly grateful for how you took any ideas I had - from the thistles and Menzies tartan for Sam and the rosehips and 'yellow bobble flowers' (forgive me!) for me - and made truly beautiful and personal bouquets which blended into our whole day including the venue, bridesmaids dresses, colour scheme, my wedding dress and even Sam's kilt!

I also have to say what an amazing job you did with my wheelchair. To be honest, I have complicated feelings towards my wheelchair as although it gives me so much freedom now it is a relatively new introduction into my life since I got seriously ill about six years ago and, as such, still serves as a reminder of this. This became even more apparent in the process of planning our wedding as, as I know we've talked about before, I found it so difficult to hold onto an image of how I and our day would look like as the bridal bouquet plays such a central part in this. I couldn't help but feel my chair would 'ruin' things - even though I knew that in fact it would be not using my chair that would 'ruin' the day! However, the ideas you had for my chair and how you made it look on the day absolutely proved me wrong. It looked beautiful and, as I know it is, truly looked a part of me in how the flowers complimented my bridal bouquet. I felt absolutely resplendent and beautiful sitting in my chair which is a feeling I have never had before and actually makes me feel quite emotional! I was also so touched how you made my bouquet just as beautiful (and stable) when sitting and wheeling as it was when standing which suited my needs perfectly. It was so thoughtful of you to dry my bouquet stems as well so it wouldn't get my dress wet as well as arranging my wheelchair flowers yourself. These really made my flowers feel special and personal. In a world where disability adaptions are just functional, often ugly, an afterthought or made out to be 'inconvenient' my experience with you couldn't have been more different. It all felt beautiful, personal, and that nothing was too much trouble. I suppose what I mean to say is that I felt like 'every other bride' in a way in which I never felt I could! I know you have worked with wheelchair-using brides before so thank you so much for using both your skills and your platform to raise our visibility within wedding media - it truly means a lot to brides like me and I hope the purple pound finds its way to you as a result!”
